Anecdotally everyone has heard the stories, now let's compare the cost of housing today to just two years ago. A bachelor apartment has increased by 50%; a 1-bedroom apartment by 36%; and a 2 - bedroom apartment by 33%. The minimum wage has risen by 7% and Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program payments have not increased at all. Low-income and fixed-income people are more vulnerable than ever.
